Secretary’s report for last six months

September 2018

Just a few words as to the business of the Association that has happened over the last 6 months, since the AGM Luncheon in April.

Sadly Nick Turney passed away in June.

The main event of the year was to celebrate our 75th Anniversary on the 7th July at Tilsworth Golf Centre. Twenty-seven members attended, with thirty-three guests. All who attended the evening enjoyed the entertainment. Unfortunately Ron Fuller has a stroke just hours before we were due to start, and could not attend.

Hyde awards at Parkfields Middle School and St George’s Lower School on 20th July Chairman Len Hull and Vice Chairman Melvin Bryant attended both schools to present the Hyde awards to 4 pupils at Parkfields and 2 pupils at St George’s.

Due to half term on Shrove Tuesday the now annual climb up Conger Hill to listen to the witch frying the pancakes did not take place.

I have had various requests that we move to online banking so to allow members to pay for their meal/subs directly into our Bank Account, which is NOT set up for me to monitor online. I have to rely on monthly statements sent by the bank. (There are no plans to change this procedure at this time)

Therefore for a trial period if you want to pay into the bank account You MUST email or ring me with the date and amount you are going to transfer the funds, plus the reference you intend to use.

If you do pay online, you MUST indicate that on your return form with the reference you used.
